And I hope it’s a better year than the last one, in every respect.
I’ll tell you, it’s a good job I aren’t the monarch of my country, because the way I balked when it came to giving a little end of year speech and summation, I would’ve left a lot of people disappointed… or laughing their arse off.
Still, it’s ok – they don’t pay me enough to be so damn polished
Really though, I had intended on summing up everything I’d achieved, not achieved, my mistakes, triumphs, and thoughts on the year and strength training/bodybuilding in general… but it just felt too involved and unstructured, and I couldn’t get it right.
My plan is to now (well, in the next few months, possibly) create something of a “My First Year In Weight Training: Mistakes Included” (Mistakes of which will make up around ¾ of the book, to be honest!) downloadable PDF document (free, of course) which I think would be of benefit to those just beginning or thinking of beginning training.
I’ll give you an update on this later down the line.
Anyway, just to put you back up to speed. I’m still cutting. And, to be honest, I’m very tired of it. It was early July when I started, and it’s just too damn long by far.
My training has also become inconsistent and erratic, and I haven’t trained at all during December – and I’ll be picking back up from Monday, just basic compound exercises to tide me over and hopefully help shift some more fat.
Although I’ve definitely lost a fair amount of leg muscle since my trousers fit me much slacker, I have to say, I don’t think I’ve lost too much upper body muscle, surprisingly. The fat has definitely shrunk, but, I’d still like to see another half a stone to a stone of it gone just to reduce my stomach fat some more.
Then I’m ready.
Ready for a new direction in my training: Westside Barbell
