Bodybuilders take great pains to ensure that they get the best food containing the best nutrients, and are often ultra-paranoid about how they cook them.
It makes sense to me that when you boil something, and then tip the water away, some nutrients are lost – particularly in the case of vegetables.
But one thing I’ve found many people are paranoid about is the use of microwave ovens for cooking their food.
“No, no, mate… don’t use a microwave, that destroys the nutrients.”
I didn’t want to hear this because I don’t like the hassle of boiling stuff all the time, and love the convenience of the microwave, so I did a little research.
I’m pretty much convinced now that microwave ovens are just fine for cooking bodybuilding foods in, and the article which persuaded me was this article here.
For those who didn’t read it, the basic jist is microwave ovens cook food by simply shaking the water particles in them.
If you have any thoughts on this, feel free to leave a comment and I’ll reply pronto.
