Not Bad, Not Bad

I was pretty apprehensive about benching today, it being the first time since I experienced pain in my right shoulder early last week. However, since my shoulder was feeling much better, I took a risk, and rather than lowering my poundage I went for a slight increase.

Thankfully, all went well: I successfully increased my bench, and experienced no pain. I also felt much stronger and my form felt much better and easy going.

More importantly, I remembered to stretch before and after my workout. One thing I’ve noticed already is, although there is certainly pain there when stretching at angles which my right shoulder deems awkward, the pain is becoming far less, and my flexibility seems to be improving already.

I aim to continue taking good care of my shoulders, and several times a week when I aren’t working out, I’ll be performing stretches just to keep things in good order. It seems to be paying off.
