Water Boy

Since I’m a beginner to this bodybuilding lark, I’ve always got a mild degree of paranoia that I’m missing something important out that I should know. I suppose most do, no matter their size or level. Bodybuilders seem to crave knowledge like Amy Winehouse craves her crack pipe.

So, I’m always looking for new information which will better help ‘The Cause.’ One thing I came across today was about the importance of drinking plenty of water.

I’ll cop to it – I’ve heard it said many times before, but I didn’t know why it was so important. I just assumed (what do they say, assumption is the mother of all f**kups?) it was because it’s a good thing for the body to be hydrated, but I didn’t really know of it’s vital role in the building of muscle, however.

Anyway, today I found out that by keeping the body’s cells hydrated properly, this helps to increase the synthesis of protein to a good degree. So in other words, helps with muscle growth. Just what I need!

I’m still early in the game, so I’m glad I found this out now. Besides a lot of milk, I honestly don’t drink much water at all, so I’ve probably been doing myself a big disservice.

It’s been recommended about a gallon of water a day should be drank, but I’ll see how it goes… I’m already drinking a lot of milk, and I hear pissing as a full-time occupation doesn’t pay too well, so hopefully my body will quickly adapt and I’ll be able to lead a relatively normal life!

I’ll let you know how it goes…
