The Genesis Of A Bodybuilder
Welcome to the blog. My name is Mr. X; Ok, that’s not my real name, but can you blame me? I’d rather use a pseudonym than one day get a pull from the law who want to know why I’ve taken out and cashed in a huge life insurance claim on myself in Nigeria if I wasn’t really dead, or something. This is the Internet after all, y’know what I mean? Better safe than sorry, I think.
Anyway, down to business. The de facto reason this blog exists is to write about my bodybuilding exploits which began January 2nd, 2008. I’m sickened to say I bought the equipment over a year ago, and for a million reasons – which all amounted to laziness and lack of commitment – I didn’t go beyond half-arsed dabbling for about 2 weeks in early 2007. What an idiot. It pains me to think where I could’ve been by now if I’d have committed back then.
So, at 25, certain I was feeling pre-mortem rigor mortis, tired of pissing my life away not doing anything worthwhile, and terrified the greedy bastards at the Inland Revenue was gonna start charging me tax on the amount of dust my weight training equipment was collecting, I decided come 2008, by hook or crook, I was going to begin bodybuilding for real. And I did.
The only 2 measurements I took before beginning was my bicep size, and my weight, which were 11 ¼” and 13 stone. Over the coming months I’ll be posting up explanations of what I’m doing, monthly progress reports, probably some videos and pictures and articles and whatever else I can lay my hands on which is useful for ‘The Cause.’
With a lot of luck commitment and hard work, I’ll hopefully be able to pack on a good 30-40lb of muscle mass, and achieve a good lean physique by the end of the year, or early 2009. To some, it may sound a long time, but I’ve read up on it enough to know that’s about the timeframe I’d be looking at for such gains.
Despite claims on many websites which state such gains have been made by inexperienced Average Joe’s naturally within just weeks, I just don’t buy it. Sorry. I’m well aware gains come fast in the beginning, as they have for me up to now, but, I’ve seen many people on these ‘programs’ readily admit that while they’ve made good beginner gains (as everybody does), that nobody seems to have come close to what the creators have ‘achieved.’ I believe that says it all: either the creators got lucky, or all is not what it seems.
There are nor shortcuts. Which reminds me, I won’t be using steroids, HGH or anything crazy like that, since the last thing I want is any Tommy Cooper stuff going on with my hair, bollocks, and other faculties, if you know what I mean. I’ve got enough problems!
Well, that’s about it for this entry. Check back for more stuff soon.
Thanks for reading,
I’ll cya later.
